Vector Art

I've chosen to do a vector art style, mainly because I usually do illustration and definately need to work on my vector drawing skills!

Here are the finished art of the splash page/city selection + the first (failed) main page and the main page I ended up chosing.

A New Beginning!

SO! Since my last idea was s*%# I've had to rethink the project, and re-brainstorm=

Human rights=

-uniting, coming together (community)
=>where do people reunite/ come together (church, for food, beach)

-our world= is fragile

-we need eachother= what object/system depends on every part equally, otherwise it would fall apart/wouldn't work? (eco system, some sort of toy? or gadget?)

I really like the idea of us all having to work together in order to achieve the goals of Human Rights. The only thing I could think of that uses this theory is:
  • a puzzle (but not really, I want something that requires balance, and a 3D puzzle would still be able to stand if it was missing a piece)
  • idea of irreducible complexity, or in otherwords the baterial rotary flagellum, the system of 3 basic bacteria elements which require eachother in order to survive. (not really the nicest imagery!!)
  • acrobats, like the ones in Cirqui du soleil, with 3 or more people balancing on eachother, with eachother lives in the others hands. depending on strength and trust.
  • our ecosystem, a fragile balance between living beings and their environment.

the one I'm going to persue is the acrobat one, with a circus sort of theme, it's still fun and exciting yet still has a back story and meaning relating to Human Rights.

Texture Trial

After looking at pieces of work that had a lot of different textures and simple colour schemes I did a texture trial of my own, took a picture of my fridge, and put textures on it to see how the idea might turn out!

From This To This

Inspiration!

These are just a few mixed media illustrations that I found in some of my magazines, the things I especially like about these artworks is their down to earth quality, and how the different textures make it more interesting.

Hello to my people!

Some brain storming ideas!

Human rights film festival=

  • human rights= what is it to be human? what are human rights? why should we have them?
  • fabrics, textiles, threads of humanity, ripped paper
  • colour spectrum
  • from all around the world= marina, boats, postcards, photos, travel, suitcases
  • people travelling together
  • fun, positive, interesting,
  • starting from the beginning? chalkboard
  • film= negatives, film canisters, screens, movie theatres, seats,

The main ones I like: what is it to be human? postcards, chalkboard style, threads of humanity
